AFC BOURNEMOUTH midfielder Tyler Adams continued his fight back to full fitness with the United States men’s national team on Thursday night, playing the first half of their 2-1 loss to Panama.

Although limited to just 45 minutes on Thursday night, the appearance marked Adams’ second-consecutive start of the tournament.

Tim Weah’s ejection in the 18th minute put the Americans in an early hole after VAR upgraded his foul from a yellow to a red card.

However, Folarin Balogun’s left-footed missile off of the right post boosted the USMNT in front 1-0.

Panama fought back three minutes later through Cesar Blackman’s confident strike into the bottom-left corner.

Adams was replaced at halftime as Johnny Cardoso entered the match for the 24-year-old. After missing most of the 2023/24 Premier League season through injury, Adams is starting to gain form during a crucial period of the tournament.

Panama’s Jose Fajardo delivered the winning goal with eight minutes to play, sneaking in front of former Cherry Cameron Carter-Vickers to one-time Abidel Ayarza’s pass past Ethan Horvath.

Adams and co. will next face Uruguay on June 1 in both nations’ final group stage matches.

Currently the USA are second but level on three points with third-placed Panama, goal difference separating the two sides.
