Tyson Fury's father, John Fury, has come under fire for his part in Tyson's recent defeat to Oleksandr Usyk.

In what was a historic fight, Tyson Fury faced his first professional loss at the hands of Usyk in a closely contested split decision, crowning the Ukrainian as the undisputed heavyweight champion. The high-stakes bout took place in Saudi Arabia, with Usyk narrowly securing the win on Saturday night.

As the final round approached, tension was palpable in Fury's corner, with his team advising caution and precision. Amidst the guidance being offered, one of the trainers was overheard instructing, "Don't cross your god damn legs, be ready to punch. Don't be afraid to slide in, quit pulling back or you'll get caught", while John Fury emphatically shouted, "One round to undisputed".

Despite the confidence exuded by Fury's corner, two out of three judges had Usyk leading on points, indicating that Fury needed a decisive action to clinch the title. Fans have since pointed fingers at Fury's corner, including John, for what they perceive as misguided advice.

Criticism from fans has been sharp, with comments such as, "His corner totally misjudged that. Might have been a different situation had they told him he was losing during the later rounds.", reports the Mirror.

Others were more blunt, with remarks like "rubbish from his corner! " and "Fury's dad completely contradicting the head coach".

Post-match, Fury remained convinced of his dominance throughout most of the fight, hinting at a potential rematch, especially with a clause that could set the stage for another epic showdown.

"I believe I won that fight," Fury declared. "I believe he won a few of the rounds, but I won the majority of them, and I believe it was one of those what-can-you-do, one of them... decisions in boxing. We both put on a good fight, best we can do. But make no mistake, I won that fight, in my opinion, and I'll be back. I've got a rematch clause."

The event was also marked by an incident involving Fury's father, who headbutted a member of Usyk's team, Stanislav Stepchuk, leading to an altercation that required security intervention. John Fury was later seen with a bloodied face from a cut sustained during the scuffle.

Following his defeat, Fury faced questions about his future in the sport. The 35 year old boxer expressed his continued passion for boxing, saying, "I ain't boxing because I've got no money, I'm boxing because I love it. I'm 36 in a few months. I've been boxing since I was a child. Where does it all end? Do I have a hundred fights and break down and end up in a wheelchair? While I'm still loving the game - and I was having fun in there - then I will continue to do it. When I can't do it any more, I'll pack it up."
