OXFORD United face an early reunion with Peterborough United, who they beat in the Sky Bet League One play-offs, after drawing them at home in the first round of the Carabao Cup.

The U’s beat the Posh 2-1 on aggregate in the play-off semi-finals, before going on to overcome Bolton Wanderers 2-0 in the Wembley final.

First round ties in the Carabao Cup will take place during the midweek commencing August 12.

If the score is level at the end of 90 minutes, no extra time will be played, and the tie will go to a penalty shoot-out.

Burnley, Luton Town and the 13 Premier League sides not participating in Europe will enter the competition in the second round, with the remaining seven clubs joining in round three.

The Carabao Cup is regionalised with the draw split into a northern and southern section until the third round.
