U’s set for trip to newly promoted side in pre-season

OXFORD United will make the trip to Sky Bet League One side Mansfield Town during pre-season, it has been announced.

The U’s will travel to the newly promoted outfit on July 27, with a 3pm kick-off.

The Stags won promotion from League Two during the 2023/24 campaign, after finishing third in League Two.

The Nottinghamshire side are managed by Nigel Clough, the son of legendary Nottingham Forest boss Brian Clough.

United and Mansfield haven’t met in competitive action since the 2015/16 season, when both sides were in League Two. The teams shared a 1-1 draw at Field Mill in August 2015, before a 2-2 draw in the reverse fixture in February 2016.

The U’s have already announced they will take on Oxford City at Court Place Farm on July 19, before a behind closed doors friendly with Exeter City five days later.
