Uber Driver Attacked By ‘Passenger Who Thought He Was A Muslim’

An Uber driver claims to have been attacked by a passenger who mistakenly believed that he was a Muslim.

Samson Woldemichael, from North Carolina, claims to have been attacked and threatened behind the wheel of his cab - despite being a Christian.

Mr Woldemichael, who has lived in the US for eight years, says that the passenger became increasingly aggressive as they approached his home - and he then began delivering a series of devastating blows to the back of the driver’s head.

‘He asked me if I was a Muslim, and I said I was not a Muslim’, Mr Woldemichael said.

‘I was driving and he hit me.’

Recalling the incident to WBTV, he added: ‘ I told him in the first place I was not a Muslim, but it’s not right to generalise people and do that.‘He was saying he would shoot me. He was acting like he was armed.’

No arrests have yet been made, but Mr Woldemichael hopes the perpetrator can be traced through the app.
