Paddy "the Baddy" Pimblett is still amazed at what Jurgen Klopp said to him at the former Liverpool FC manager's farewell party.

The UFC star was one of the few people not employed by the club to attend the legendary German's leaving do at the Titanic Hotel in May. The Huyton-born fighter told the ECHO his encounter with Klopp is one of the best moments of his life.

He said in an exclusive interview: "It's up there with getting my hand raised in the Octagon and my wife having kids. Jurgen Klopp pointing at me and shouting 'the machine'.

"Still now, I'm just wowed." On his BOSS podcast he co-hosts with Jamie Webster, Paddy explained how he initially had access to a different part of the end of season party and was planning on leaving before Klopp spotted him. He said: "There was two separate rooms and I'd been given the wristband for the corporate room.

"None of the players and that. It's ended up doing my head in and I've been like 'Ohh, I'm just getting asked for pictures here, let's just go." However, the moment he exited was when Klopp was arriving with the Liverpool players and the former boss insisted the UFC star stay when he hailed Paddy as "the machine".

Paddy decided to stay and was part of a night that will live long in the memory as amazing footage shared by Thiago Alcantara's wife, Julia Vigas, showed a packed dancefloor partying to Freed From Desire by Gala Rizzatto. Klopp and Paddy were some of the faces spotted on the dancefloor and the fighter explained how he thanked the manager for the transformative effect he had on the club.

He told the ECHO: "I ended up speaking to him in there, I ended up giving him a hug and a kiss and saying 'lad you don't know what you've done for this city. You don't understand, I love you and the rest of Liverpool loves you'.

"I'll never forget that moment. I don't think I'll ever be speechless, the only person I may get speechless is Jurgen Klopp and I was. There's a picture my mate took straight away and I was just in shock. The Jurgen fella is onto me."

Moments like this have followed Paddy around throughout his incredible rise to the top of MMA. The fighter has been able to share many stories like this alongside his close friend and fellow UFC star, Molly McCann.

The two are starring in a new BBC reality series named Show No Mersey, which arrived on iPlayer today. In an interview with the ECHO, Molly explained how her main equivalent to Paddy's encounter with Klopp was when she was publicly hailed by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

She laughed: "The Rock made a montage once of me and him doing the People's Elbow and he was calling it the Meatball's elbow."

Paddy and Molly were able to experience an incredible "pinch me" moment together when they were gifted Rolex's by Drake, Molly said she never takes it for granted that she has been able to enjoy the journey to the top of MMA alongside her close friend.

She added: "The stuff we've managed to do we probably couldn't even say it on camera to be fair.

"There's moments we've shared, especially when we're travelling around the world and I just think this is some life. The s**t we get and the hate we get you can bat it off when you know we live such a good life.

"Even when we're going through it, it's like we've got a roof over our heads, we're fighting and we've got the job of our dreams."
