A striking weather map reveals a dark red hue blanketing most of the UK, indicating temperatures could feel like 30C in just a fortnight. The mercury is set to rise and due to calm winds and sinking air, it will feel even warmer by around Saturday, June 15 across most regions.

The weather map, created by forecasters at InMeteo, displays a red colour for parts of southern England and eastern areas, suggesting warm and dry conditions. The team at InMeteo, which operates weather service Ventusky, predicts it will feel like 30C in parts of south London and Surrey on June 15 and 16.

Elsewhere in the capital, it's expected to feel like 27C, with similar temperatures in Norfolk and Cambridgeshire, and 25C as far north as Humberside. Nottinghamshire and the rest of the midlands can also expect high temperatures, according to the predictions.

The reason for the intense red covering the map is due to humidity. While actual temperatures may struggle to exceed 20C in many areas, it will feel akin to May's "mini-heatwave", when temperatures surpassed 24C for at least four consecutive days, reports the Mirror.

The actual maximums of 20C on June 15 will be in southern and eastern areas, notably across London. This will occur during a period of dry and settled conditions, according to the Met Office, although they have yet to confirm whether the UK will experience an official summer heatwave.

The long-range forecast from June 8 to June 17 states: "Whilst showers remain possible in the south, there should continue to be a good deal of dry weather here. Small chance of a more widely settled spell developing for a time."

Sunday offered quite pleasant weather across the UK, with temperatures reaching above 24C at Heathrow Airport in West London. Similarly, temperatures surpassed 20C in parts of County Down, Northern Ireland, Durham and other areas of Northeast England, as well as Pershore in Worcestershire.
