Bikini-clad British tourists and men wandering round just swimming trunks in Majorca are at risk of being handed hefty fines as locals are increasingly losing patience with holidaymakers who "think that they can do what they like". Tourists have been filmed walking around Palma in bikinis after coming off a party boat and while they didn't appear concerned by the looks they were getting, locals want action to be taken.

Another man was seen walking in Mallorca wearing a pair of green swimming trunks. But residents have fumed over the influx of scantily-clad and half-naked tourists, with many urging local authorities and police to "arrest" people on the island., as reported by MyLondon sister site Birmingham Live.

A business owner in the area told the Majorca Bulletin "that the naked truth about the state of affairs is that some tourists think that they can do what they like." One woman wrote: "Please arrest these near naked people. Or the shirtless, near-nude, bikini-wearing morons who wander around markets, towns and shops. Ukkk! Quality tourism can’t come soon enough!"

The Balearic Islands has supposedly ramped up efforts to curb rowdy behaviour by threatening street-drinkers with fines of up to £1,300, banning party boats from getting close to tourist hotspots and shutting down shops that sell alcohol at 9.30pm.

Tourists are also at risk of being fined up to £500 for walking around the island topless or in a bikini. And there are also signs up warning tourists of €600 fines for taking glasses outside of restaurants.

A source told MailOnline that fines are not usually given during off-season, allowing drunken partygoers to seemingly flout the rules when it is not summer. One independent shop owner said: "Tourists should be more polite. I am local.

"Seeing something like that in Palma and other areas, we don't like it. You are coming from a country, for sure you are not going to do that in your country. I have been to England and it's completely different."
