National Holidays in Spain include: January 1 - New Years Day, January 6 - Epiphany and April (Various) - Good Friday, as well as May 1 - Labour Day and August 15 - Assumption of Mary. Others include October 12 - National Day and November 1 - All Saints' Day.

The final three are December 6 - Constitution Day, December 8 - Immaculate Conception and December 25 - Christmas Day. Expatica explains: "The government in Spain sets the Spanish national holidays each year, although vacation days differ between each of the regions. Unlike national celebrations, local governments choose when regional holidays fall.

"Spanish national holidays are busy periods. Employees frequently take a a puente (bridge) holiday of four days if a holiday falls on a Thursday or Tuesday. Vacations that fall on weekends are sometimes replaced with alternate days (usually on the following Monday) if the regional government so chooses.

"This is not the case for every company, however." It adds: "Keep in mind that many Spanish festivities are world-famous, meaning accommodation fills up quickly. As a result, it’s important to book early if your trip overlaps with a public holiday."
