Yahoo News UK's longest Mega Slide to open 40 minutes from Stoke-on-Trent - with 200ft descent
Staffordshire is set to become home to the UK's longest slide once again this summer. Those brave enough to take the plunge will zip down a 200ft Mega Slide Mountain at over 12mph.
The colossal attraction will be housed at the National Forest Adventure Farm, around a 40-minute drive down the A50 from Stoke-on-Trent.
It features a specially formulated slip-inducing solution to ensure a speedy descent down the mammoth dry-tube sliding system. Adrenaline junkies can opt to zoom down in either double or single tube rings.
Perched atop a 30ft hill, the slide offers stunning panoramic views of the 40-acre farm before riders experience the exhilarating drop. Set to launch in time for the summer holidays, the slide is poised to be a major draw for those seeking a rush.

The slide is accessible to anyone taller than 90cm. It adds to the array of attractions at the farm park, which already boasts a variety of activities.
These include a beach-themed attraction with two massive paddling pools, providing families with an opportunity to enjoy the sunny weather. The 10-metre square pools will offer a seaside experience, complete with deckchairs, ice-cream, seaside shows, and daily foam parties. A smaller pool will also be available specifically for the little ones.
Additionally, 2024 will see the introduction of live entertainment at the Deer Barn music venue and Funk on the Farm family barbecue and firepit evenings.
Ivor Robinson, who co-owns The National Forest Adventure Farm with his brother Tom, said: "Since we started the farm park in 2011, we have always been keen to offer families somewhere fun and exciting to enjoy outdoor activities together. We've looked at what we could bring that would complement the existing attractions at the farm but offer something a bit unique in the UK.
"The Mega Slide is a great thrill-seeking activity which hasn't traditionally been available outside of large ski slope attractions. There is nowhere else in the UK you can experience this tube sliding fun and we are so pleased to be able to welcome families this summer to enjoy something different in the Staffordshire sun."
Located just down the A50 in Burton, the farm park boasts a large maize maze, colourful sand art activities, tractor and barrel rides, indoor play areas, and a variety of animals to meet. Visitors can also enjoy unlimited fairground rides and engage in activities such as jumping pillows, go karts, adventure golf, and an assault course.
The venue is also known for hosting seasonal events such as Easter Activities, a massive summer Maize Maze, daytime Halloween fun, the spine-tingling Screamfest during Halloween nights, and festive Christmas celebrations.
