Olly Alexander appeared to take the knock back on the chin as he suffered the embarrassment of being the ONLY act in the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 final to get no points from the public.

Going in 13th place out of 25 in Saturday's finale, Years & Years star Olly got a good position in the draw and received plenty of favourable feedback on social media when he and his dancers took to the stage to perform Dizzy. And, while it took a while for points from the juries to come in as the Eurovision results were revealed, Olly did end up on the left hand side of the leaderboard on a score of 46, having received a high of eight from one of the participating countries.

Things took a downward turn for Olly when the public votes were announced. After audible boos from the crowd at the Malmo Arena for low televote scores for the likes of Austria and Norway, Olly waited with bated breath for his score, only to end up with nothing at all from the public.

As BBC commentator Graham Norton sounded gutted for the singer, Olly quickly stood up in defiance, much like Embers singer James Newman when he suffered the same fate three years ago.

The poor result for Olly in the televote was condemned by many fans, with salt rubbed into the wound by the huge public score for controversial entrant Israel, who topped the public vote for UK viewers.
