UN Raises Concerns Over 'Military Movement' in Libya

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed on April 4 concern over “the military movement taking place in Libya,” which he said would increase the “risk of confrontation”.

The day before Guterres made his comments, the Libya National Army, headed by Khalifa Haftar and in control of the east of the country, posted video showing a convoy of armored vehicles heading west to engage what they described as the “remaining terrorist groups”.

Skirmishes south of Tripoli were reported on April 3.
