Quinn Shephard (“Not Okay”) adapted Godfrey’s book and executive produces along with Samir Mehta (“Tell Me Lies”) and actress Keough through her Felix Culpa banner with Gina Gammell. Shephard spent three years working with late author Godfrey, who is also credited as an executive producer on the series; Godfrey hand-picked Keough to play her in the show and selected Gladstone to join the cast after hearing about her performance in Oscar-nominated “Killers of the Flower Moon” from her director of photography friend.

“Our shorthand in the room was that the show is ‘Eighth Grade’ meets ‘The Sopranos,'” Mehta told Elle magazine. “And in some ways, the experience of being in middle school and how exclusive it can feel and how cruel being ostracized [is] can feel like you’re dealing with a gang.”
“Under the Bridge” is additionally executive produced by Liz Tigelaar (“Little Fires Everywhere”) and Stacey Silverman of Best Day Ever, plus Tara Duncan. Geeta Patel directs the pilot and is an executive producer on that episode. The series is produced by ABC Signature.
“Under the Bridge” premieres April 17 on Hulu. Check out the trailer below.
