Upcoming Glasgow roadworks will affect bus routes and emergency service vehicles.

The works are part of two schemes, which will take place this month and throughout June.

Scheme one will see works on the eastbound carriageway at the M8 Woodside Viaducts.

The work is to allow for the undertaking of essential overnight maintenance on the eastbound M8 between Junctions 18 (Charing X) and 16 (Craighall). These overnight closures will run Sunday to Friday only until June 21.

Phase four of the eastbound works will take place from on May 28 and run until June 21 from 10pm until 6am, each night, excluding Friday nights and Saturdays, with signed diversion routes in operation.

Mainline M8 eastbound traffic will be taken off at junction 18 (St George’s Road) and travel northbound on St George’s Road. Traffic will then follow the diversion southbound onto Garscube Road, heading eastbound onto Dobbie's Loan and back on at junction 16 (Craighall).

The eastbound junction 19 (Anderston) and junction 18 (Charing X) on-slip closure traffic will be diverted northbound to North Street onto St George’s Road where it will then join the mainline diversion to junction 16.

Scheme two of the works will see the resurfacing and re-lining of the A81 Garscube Road and the A808 Dobbie's Loan Westbound.

The work will kick off on May 28 and run until June 27 from 8am to 8pm, excluding weekends.

The work will be carried out using weekday closures, with signed diversion routes in operation.

Phase one of this scheme will run from May 28 until May 31, phase two between June 3 and 4, phase three from June 4 until June 5 and phase four between June 5 and 7.

Access for emergency service vehicles will not be maintained throughout these works and drivers have been asked to plan their journey and allow extra time for travel.
