US Troops Lay Barbed Wire at Border Crossing with Mexico

The Department of Defense said troops helped US Customs and Border Protection agents to lay barbed wire along the Mexico border at Hidalgo, Texas, on November 2, ahead of the expected arrival of a migrant caravan from Central America.

Some 300 meters of barbed wire was laid around the port of entry in Hidalgo as part of Operation Faithful Patriot, the department said.

The operation includes plans to deploy more than 5,000 active-duty personnel to aid the Department of Homeland Security and US Customs and Border Protection at the border. Credit: Department of Defense via Storyful
