USS John McCain Involved in Collision in Strait of Malacca (File)

The destroyer USS John McCain was involved in a collision with a merchant ship in the Strait of Malacca, east of Singapore, the US 7th Fleet said on Monday, August 21.

The Navy said the ship collided with the Alnic MC at about 6:24 am Monday morning and sustained damage to its port side. Search and rescue operations were underway.
