A vegan activist who walked into a McDonald’s restaurant with protestors wearing pig and chicken masks while red “blood” was thrown around is standing trial.
Up to 20 activists held signs and chanted through a megaphone as they “overwhelmed” security at the Brighton branch of the fast food chain on May 17.
More activists gathered outside court today in support of Dylan Roffey, who is standing trial in connection with the incident earlier this year.
Roffey, 24, is charged with criminal damage and resisting a police officer and denies the offences.
McDonald’s assistant manager Robert Frost, who was in charge of the restaurant on the evening the incident occurred, told Brighton Magistrates’ Court that between 10 and 20 protesters had arrived at about 7.30pm.
