Vera ITV extra roles up for grabs in Northumberland as final series filming starts

If you've ever wanted to be in Vera and have no plans on Friday, May 10, now's your chance, as a huge casting call has been issued for extras to star in the final series.

In news that took fans completely by surprise, it was announced last week that Vera will end next year, as Brenda Blethyn bids farewell to her character and hangs up DCI Stanhope's famous fishing hat for the last time. Given the reaction to the announcement o Vera' future and the upset it's caused, interest in series 14 has just ramped up even more.

And fans were delighted to see Brenda and several co-stars on their doorstep on Monday, when they were spotted filming both in Cambois and on Blyth beach and it's now been confirmed that the Vera team will be back in Blyth on Friday, May 10, with all manner of supporting roles up for grabs.

Ne.14tv, the talent agency who have helped locals get roles in Vera for years now, as well as other TV dramas and adverts, posted a full list of all the opportunities up for grabs for May 10, with jobs available for all ages for a 8am-6pm filming schedule.

First up are roles for two teenage boys (17+) who must be able to bring their own bikes to the shoot. Another teenage boy (17+) is also needed, with their own scooter, as well as an adult to play a postman and six adult woman to be cast in passer by type roles.
