Verizon Launches ‘MyHome’ Plan With Discounted Streaming And Option Of YouTube TV For Bundled Pay-TV Service

Verizon is launching myHome, a new offering for home internet customers that lets them choose discounted streaming packages and select YouTube TV as their bundled pay-TV provider.

The new plan’s arrival is accompanied by the rollouts of a new consumer plan, Verizon Access, and a new smartphone management setup for Verizon Business. The telco giant is also updating its brand and logo as it brings the new options to the marketplace.

Verizon’s existing 67 million home internet customers, or any new ones signing up, will have the option of creating a custom entertainment experience via myHome. Customers will choose “content perks,” the company said, from various streaming services for $10 a month. Among the bundled options are Netflix & Max (with ads), the Disney Bundle (including Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+), YouTube Premium, and Walmart+ membership with an included Paramount+ subscription. (Apple One and Apple Music Family are coming later this summer.)

The price of the internet service component of the myHome plan is guaranteed for up to 4 years, the company noted.

One “perk” made available via myHome is the option of getting pay-TV service from either YouTube TV or Verizon Fios. YouTube TV, launched in 2017, has become one of the top pay-TV operators in the U.S., with more than 8 million subscribers. NFL Sunday Ticket recently moved from its longtime home on DirecTV to YouTube TV and execs at YouTube and corporate parent Alphabet have credited the NFL with boosting subscriber levels.

“Verizon is one of the most recognizable brands. By listening to our customers, we continue to significantly evolve our offerings and brand promise to connect people when it matters most on our reliable network,” said Verizon Chairman and CEO Hans Vestberg. “We never stop pushing the industry forward and delivering more value to all of our customers. This next chapter is a continuation of our journey of service and innovation.”

The boom in bundling across streaming got its start in many respects with telecom operators Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile offering packages of services at discounted rates.

“Home internet frustrates customers, and home entertainment can be overwhelming. With myHome, they now have the transparency and price guarantee they deserve on reliable internet, and an easy way to choose the best entertainment options with exclusive savings,” said Sowmyanarayan Sampath, CEO of Verizon Consumer. “MyHome takes the complexity out – fully customize your subscriptions and connected home needs all in one place to match your lifestyle – without having to carry features or content you don’t need.”
