'Very excited': Expansion plans revealed for Hamilton pizza restaurant

Expansion plans have been revealed for an independent pizza restaurant in Hamilton.

Hospitality firm Goheer Ventures has purchased the northeast master franchise licence of Boss Pizza.

They are looking to open 15 new locations in Scotland in a move that will create hundreds of jobs.

Started in 2020 to meet demand for fresh dough pizzas, the family chain aims to compete with some of the country's top takeaway brands using quality ingredients, innovative flavour and exceptional customer service.

Imran, Bilal, Kamran and Aman Goheer of Goheer Ventures have hospitality in their blood, coming from the same family that started Shalimar on Gibson Street in Glasgow in the 1960s and 1970s.

They say they will draw on Boss Pizza's family history and collective experience when it comes to expanding, and they want to 'transform the pizza landscape'.

It comes after we reported that owner Ajmal Mushtaq teased plans to grow Boss Pizza to a national level after selling the much-loved family restaurant Mushtaqs, also in Hamilton.

Speaking in November 2023, he said: "Naturally, it is a little sad to let go of such an integral part of my life, but also very excited at the prospect [of] dedicating my full time to my new project which is to grow Boss Pizza into a national brand."
