Vicky Pattison has revealed to fans that she was rushed to A&E after being left 'unable to physically move' and 'ignoring the warning signs'. The former reality star took to social media with concerning snaps as she was seen sobbing in a hospital bed while connected to a drip.

Vicky, 36, explained she had been diagnosed with glandular fever and an abscess in her throat and that she'll be forced to remain in hospital 'for a while' amid her fast-approaching wedding to fiancé Ercan Ramadan. The I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here winner told her fans: "Definitely not the weekend I was intending on having.. I was anticipating being up Mount Snowdon for god's sake...

Explaining what happened, she stated: "Don't even know really to start, but I feel like I dropped that stupid story to let a few people who were concerned about my radio silence know I was being looked after & then loads more people just worried, which was never my intention, you're all too kind btw. I am feeling much better, but absolutely flying off my pain meds so I hope this isn't all a bit too chaotic."

She continued: "I woke up on Thursday with a terrible headache, I ignored it & assumed it was because I'd had super long day the day before- anyway it persisted & became a sore throat, razor blade vibes & I got the fever, aches, pains, sore joints etc. I tried to get to an emergency doctor's appointment but we got stuff in a terrible accident- a journey that should have take an hour took 6 & even though the Dr did his best on the phone he had no real way of knowing what was best.

"Fast forward 24hours & I had started to be sick which was just making everything worse- my throat was so swollen I couldn't swallow, drink water & pain killers were completely out of the question, it was getting to the point where I physically couldn't move. Starting to feel scared, I made another emergency app with my doctor & was referred straight to A&E. after around 36 hours, about 6 bags of fluid, 3 of antibiotics & an untold amount of pain relief we're starting to get to the bottom of things.

"They think it's glandular fever, an big infection & an abscess in my throat. I didn't allow myself any recovery time after covid & it's just compromised my immune system I suppose- I haven't allowed myself any downtime this year, I have burn the candle at both ends, worked a punishing schedule & ignored all signs that my body was desperate for a break; feeling drained, overwhelmed, can't sleep at night for anxiety exhausted in the morning, loss of appetite, not prioritising my exercise- I haven't done anything since the half marathon in April which is so unlike me."

The former Geordie Shore star rounded off by saying: "This has been the wake-up call I needed but I'm angry with myself I let it go this far- I'll be in hospital for a while & I think it's for the best."

And her celebrity pals were quick to send their love and support. Scott Thomas said: "Look after YOU Vik over everything else…easier said than done I know…sending you so much love." Former Love Islander Faye Winter wrote: "Oh angel! Sending love." Wayne Lineker replied: "Sending you some Ibiza love and energy ..get well soon beautiful woman."

Presenter Charlene Douglas posted: "Oh babe! Wishing you a speedy recovery." TV personality and podcaster Luisa Zissman added: "Oh darling. If I’ve learnt one thing this year it’s we need to rest & take a break! My body also forced me to do that in the end as I didn’t listen either. Sending you love and healing vibes."
