400,000 Syrian Refugee Children in Turkey Unable to Attend School

In Turkey, more than 400,000 Syrian refugee children are unable to continue their education, despite a government policy that formally grants them access to public schools. A language barrier, registration difficulties as well as financial issues are among the major culprits outlined in this video released by Human Rights Watch on November 9.

The footage focuses on children like 15-year-old Siham Rashid, who is unable to attend school and must work in a restaurant to help support her family. Credit: YouTube/Human Rights Watch
