Anti-Uber Protests Block Roads in Paris

Paris taxi drivers blocked Porte Maillot in the west of the city and disrupted access to the city’s main airports on June 25 in protest against the expansion of Uber services in the city. A central bone of contention was the UberPOP app, which taxi drivers see as unfair competition. Riot police were deployed to some of the protests, and violent confrontations were reported in several locations of the city. Credit: Twitter.com/Vitocab
