Crowd Greets Cuban Migrants at Miami Beach

Twelve Cubans came ashore at Miami Beach on September 15 to a greeting from local people. The group included 11 men, one 16-year-old girl and a dog, who had been at sea six days, local media reported.

US Border Patrol took the group into custody, but the “wet-foot, dry-foot” policy may allow them to stay. The policy, in general, allows Cubans who reach the US mainland to stay. Those intercepted at sea are returned to Cuba.
