Damascus Suburb Ravaged by Pro-Regime Barrel Bombs

The city of Douma, a suburb of Damascus, was ravaged with intense barrel bombs on February 9 and 10 according to news and activist reports. The prolonged aerial bombardment reportedly came as a reaction to an offensive by the rebel group Jaysh al-Islam against the government-held capital of Damascus last week.

Residential areas in Douma suffered wide scale destruction in the strikes, during which at least 15 people were killed, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
