Eyewitness Video of New York City Explosion Shows Initial Chaos

Twelve people were injured when a building exploded and collapsed in the East Village of New York City on March 26. Three of the injured were in critical condition, according to local reports.

This eyewitness video shows the scene after the explosion until the fire broke out.

NYPD officials told CBS New York early indications are that it was a gas explosion.

The incident was reported around 3:20 pm local time at 7th Street and 2nd Avenue. The Fire Department of New York had called seven alarms to fight the fire. Credit: Facebook/Blake Farber
