Flash Floods Hit Texas After Heavy Rains

Flash floods hit towns across central and northern Texas after high levels of rain swept the state on May 12. Some residents of the town of Krum in northern Texas had to be rescued and many others had their homes and livestock ruined by the floods.

Footage and images from nearby Bowie show Amon Carter Lake being drained of excessive amounts of floodwater. According to Bowie Police Department, the spillway was running at full capacity in an attempt to “stop any further flooding” at the lake. Credit: Facebook/Bowie Police Department
