Iraqi Air Force Hits IS Targets in Anbar Province

Iraq’s ministry of defense released footage on Friday, May 15, that it says shows air strikes on Islamic State targets in Anbar province. Thursday night saw IS take hold of most of Ramadi, the province’s capital, including a security compound that houses the police headquarters and governor’s office. Anbar, Iraq’s largest province, is strategically placed as it stretches from the Syrian border almost to Baghdad.

It is not clear if this video shows air strikes in the aftermath of the siege, but according to Iraqi authorities, international coalition air strikes have been hitting IS targets throughout the day.
