Iraqi Coalition Forces Strike Baiji Oil Refinery

The Iraqi military, along with coalition forces, conducted an airstrike on Islamic State targets at the Baiji oil refinery in northern Iraq on Friday, June 19. Iraqi forces have been engaged in a protracted battle over what is the country’s largest refinery for over a year. Fighting in the area earlier in the week had left some Islamic State militants stuck inside the refinery, according to Reuters.
