Italy Arrests Al Qaeda Suspects in Sardinia

Italian police on April 24 arrested 18 men accused of belonging to an Al Qaeda affiliate militant group which they believe was plotting attacks on the Vatican as well as in Pakistan and Afghanistan.

The men, who were allegedly operating in Sardinia, have been tracked for more than 10 years and were all Pakistani and Afghani nationals, according to reports.
