Kezia Dugdale Elected Scottish Labour Leader

Kezia Dugdale was elected Scottish Labour party leader, winning more than 70 percent of the vote; the result was announced on Saturday, August 15. The leadership contest followed the resignation of Jim Murphy in June after his party lost all but one of its 41 seats in Scotland in May’s general election.

Speaking at an event in Stirling on Saturday, Dugdale said that the Labour party was “down but not out.” Credit: Scottish Labour Party
