Maddy special on German TV gets hundreds of calls from public

Britain’s most famous missing girl Madeleine McCann was the subject of a major investigation on German television on Wednesday night. ZDF was following the German trail after the publication of photofit pictures of a man police would like to interview.

They followed from leads supplied by the public on a national television show in Britain, and within hours ZDF had received 500 calls from German viewers offering information.

The show featured a dramatic reconstruction of the McCann disappearance, and attracted a large audience.

The suspect may also be Scandanavian, so crime programmes on television there are also featuring the McCann case in a bid to turn up some new leads.

Also present were Maddy’s parents Gerry and Kate, who have been throwing their energy into interviews and public events with this latest push to find out what happened to their daughter.
