Mortar Fire Hits Mironovsky Despite Ceasefire

Ukrainian troops said they came under fire in Mironovsky, 20km north of the embattled town of Debaltseve, on February 16, despite an agreed ceasefire coming into effect in Ukraine’s east several hours before.

Eduard Basurin, the defence spokesperson for the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic, told Reuters that separatists would not observe a truce in the government-held town of Debaltseve. According to the Kiev Post, the town of Myronivsky has been subjected to “non-stop shelling” since the ceasefire took hold. Credit: YouTube/Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty
