Protesters Demand Indigenous Rights in Alice Springs

Rallies were held across Australia on Thursday, March 19, in response to a recent government decision to close Aboriginal communities in Western Australia. The protests coincided with Close the Gap Day, a day of national action organized to improve indigenous health. Thousands attended the rallies in Canberra, Melbourne, Perth and remote cities, such as Alice Springs and Roebourne.
