Sanders Supports $15 Per Hour Federal Minimum Wage

Presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders lent his support on July 22 to a bill that would raise the federal minimum wage to $15 per hour. The bill also would make it easier for federal employees to join unions. Sanders and the co-sponsors of the bill attended a rally to support it at the US Capitol as federal contract employees were on strike.

The current federal minimum wage is $7.25, although US President Barack Obama issued an executive order to raise it to $10.10 for federal employees last year. There also had been a proposal in Congress to raise the federal minimum wage to $12 per hour. Credit: Facebook/Bernie Sanders
