Sinn Fein Says Next NI Health Minister Should Represent 'All People'

The Northern Ireland assembly voted against marriage equality on Monday, April 27. The vote followed the resignation of the DUP’s Jim Wells as Northern Ireland’s health minister, after he linked same-sex parenting to child abuse. Sinn Fein MLA Gerry Kelly said Wells “was not on his own within the DUP,” and that a new health minister should “represent all the people and… deal with their portfolio with equality at the base of it.”
