Spitfire Flypass Marks 75th Anniversary of Battle of Britain

Londoners enjoyed a flypast of fighter aircraft on the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain on Sunday, September 20. Four Supermarine Spitfires and two Hawker Hurricanes flew over the Westminster Abbey, where a “Thanksgiving and Rededication” commemoration service was held to remember the 544 Royal Air Force pilots and crew killed during the World War II air campaign.

Prince Charles laid a wreath during the ceremony before meeting veterans and their families after the service. This video shows Wing Commander Justin Helliwell flying a Spitfire P7350 over the Westminster Abbey on Sunday. Credit: YouTube/Royal Air Force
