Tanker Truck Fire Snarls Columbia Rush Hour

A tanker truck crashed and caught fire and its fuel load spilled, engulfing several other vehicles on Interstate 26 near Columbia, South Carolina, on Wednesday, May 27. Nearby residents watched the flames as emergency vehicles arrived on the scene. The fire was hot enough to melt the concrete medium barrier on the highway and kept the road closed for several hours.
