Texas Senator Puts Religion Center-Stage as He Kicks Off Election Campaign

Texas senator Ted Cruz launched his campaign for the Republican nomination for presidential candidate in next year’s US elections on March 23, with a speech punctuated by religious themes. Speaking at Liberty University, a Christian school in Lynchburg, Virginia, he set out to rally Christians to vote for their values, saying: “I believe God isn’t done with America yet.”
