UNHCR: 'Aid Brings Hope' to Frontline Town of Nikishino

This United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) video documents the beleaguered eastern Ukraine town of Nikishino, lying at the frontline of the conflict between Ukrainian and pro-Russian forces. The UNHCR said 90 percent of homes in the town of 900 were destroyed, and that only four people could stay in the town from August until the ceasefire announcement in February.

The footage shows residents receiving aid from the World Food Programme, UNICEF, and UNCHR. The residents interviewed say that people are hopeful of returning to a normal life, but that there is a fear that the conflict will reignite.
