The 1975 Lancia Stratos is a barely tamed race car homologated for street use, with all the thrills you'd expect.

The Stratos is tiny, its bodywork stretched taut over mechanicals and the two cozy passengers.

The Stratos uses a Ferrari-derived, 190-hp 2.5-liter V-6.

Above 130 mph, the Stratos is sensory overload.

Built for the World Rally Championship, the Stratos is equally adept at showing off at 35 mph.

Looking forward, you see nothing of the nose except the tops of the front fenders.

Rear visibility is not great. Solution: drive faster.

Few cars can scroll the asphalt conveyor belt like a Stratos.

The engine bears a Dino logo but was heavily reworked by Fiat.
