Suranne Jones is seen embroiled in another investigation in first look shots of the new series of Vigil.
The BBC crime drama is returning for a second run after its first was a huge hit, attracting over 13 million viewers when it aired two years ago.
The first season was set under the sea on board a submarine — named Vigil — but the second will see police officer Amy Silva (Jones) look to the skies as she enters the secret world of drone warfare to catch a killer.

Following multiple deaths at a Scottish weapons test, Silva and colleague Kirsten Longacre (Rose Leslie) are tasked with finding out the cause.
According to a synopsis, as they enter the closed ranks of the air force in Scotland and the Middle East, the pair "face the deadly warfare of tomorrow as they fight for their own uncertain future".
The six-part series will also see some new faces, including Romola Garai, Dougray Scott and Amir El-Masry.
Speaking when her casting was announced, Garai said it was a "huge privilege to be welcomed in as a part of Vigil series two and to be playing such a layered, complex character".
"I can only hope to do justice to the shows continued fascinating, challenging and thrilling storytelling," the actor said.
Vigil made its debut in 2021 and viewers were gripped as Silva investigated a mysterious death on a submarine.
It was the UK’s most watched new drama launch since Bodyguard in 2018.
