Villager Snowboards Down Hill After 'Unexpected Snow' in Dartmoor

A snowboarder didn’t waste the opportunity to enjoy “unexpected” heavy snow brought to the southwest of England by Storm Nelson overnight March 27 to 28.

The footage filmed by Hannahbella Nel early on Thursday morning showed a friend snowboarding down a small hill in Dartmoor. “Unexpected snow flurry made lots of fun in our village tonight,” she wrote on X.

Alerts for strong winds and rain were also issued by the UK Met Office.

The Met Office forecast rain and possible snow across the country for Thursday, with a batch of “heavy and thundery rain” expected to move into the southwestern region. Credit: Hannahbella Nel via Storyful
