Violent Storm Cuts Power Across San Antonio

Eyewitness video captured the moment a power line caught fire and caused an outage in downtown San Antonio, Texas, on Tuesday night, April 9.

The footage was captured by Miliy Lynn at the corner of North Main Avenue and Evergreen Street as winds of up to 60 mph and hundreds of lightning strikes were being reported in the city.

On Tuesday night, local power supplier CPS Energy reported 170 weather-related outages affecting more than 26,500 customers.

Crews worked through the night to make repairs, and by Wednesday afternoon the number of customers without power was down to 735, the company said. Credit: Miliy Lynn via Storyful
