Liverpool face an intriguing summer as the transfer window opens for Premier League clubs on Friday.

New head coach Arne Slot will be hoping the Reds can get off to a good start in his first season at Anfield, with transfers likely to play a key role. One factor which may complicate any potential deals is Euro 2024 with players likely to be focusing on international duty in Germany.

But that does not mean there will be no transfers over the next few weeks with clubs now free to complete deals until August 30. And it has been claimed that Liverpool and Netherlands captain Virgil van Dijk is attracting interest from Saudi Arabia.

Spanish publication Marca are claiming that Al Nassr have met with the centre-back and are trying to convince him to join the Cristiano Ronaldo-led Saudi Pro League team. It is claimed that Al Nassr are looking to make Van Dijk the highest-paid defender in world football.

Van Dijk would likely partner former Manchester City centre-back Aymeric Laporte in defence if he joined.

The Dutchman has a year left on his current deal at the Reds. Speaking about his future recently, he said: "Obviously I have full trust in the club and all the decisions going forward. It's exciting as well. Change is always a bit in the unknown, but I have got full confidence and am looking forward to the new season already.

"100 per cent, but success is not guaranteed. That's pretty obvious. We are going to work our socks off in order to make it happen and we have a good coach coming in, a good backroom staff. We are a very good team. Let's see what happens."

Elsewhere, Champions League holders Real Madrid are seen as favourites to secure the signing of Leny Yoro, according to the Athletic's David Ornstein. He claims that the Reds and Manchester United are both interested in the Lille defender but Madrid are said to be his most likely destination.

With just a year left on his contract, the 19-year-old is expected to leave Lille and It is claimed that the rarity of such a talented player being available has raised interest from Anfield and Old Trafford. Paris-Saint Germain are also said to be interested.
