Yahoo News Virgin River season 5 confirms premiere date - with a twist
Virgin River has finally confirmed a premiere date for season 5, while also sharing that the episodes will be dropped in two parts.
The next chapter in the Netflix romantic drama series had been expected to be released in the autumn, and it has now been revealed that the first part will hit the streamer in just over a month's time on September 7.
Part One will consist of 10 episodes, while its follow-up Part Two will be two special holiday episodes – the latter dropping just in time for the festive season on November 30.

As well as the premiere dates, Netflix has dropped a series of first-look pictures from season 5, which tease plenty of drama – especially in the wake of that baby father reveal in season 4.
The new season will feature "surprising new relationships, a shocking break-up, a difficult court trial, a heartbreaking goodbye, and a wildfire that threatens the town, bringing some people of Virgin River together while tearing others apart".
The synopsis adds: "Issues of motherhood push Mel to make a big decision about her future at the clinic while her pregnancy unexpectedly sparks an emotional connection to her past.

"To further prove himself to Mel, Jack squares off with some long-overdue confrontations — with his own demons, and of course, Charmaine.
"And as Doc and Hope's respective impairments throw their identities into question, the doctor and the mayor must find solace in their community, in their young new family, and in each other."
Ahead of the fifth season, it was confirmed back in May that plenty more Virgin River is on the way afterwards, as the show has been renewed for a sixth outing.
Virgin River seasons 1-4 are streaming now on Netflix. Season 5 will premiere Part One on September 7 and Part Two on November 30.
