Virgin River fans have been waiting for quite some time for things to pick up on the show, and it seems a major event is finally happening.

The Netflix series has confirmed on Instagram that Charmaine Roberts (Lauren Hammersley) will give birth to her twins in the upcoming Christmas specials.

The behind-the-scenes snap posted on the show's official account sees Hammersley wearing a comfy-looking delivery gown in a set dressed like a hospital room. Meanwhile, Alexandra Breckenridge, who plays protagonist Mel Monroe, is clad in a sterile gown, ready to help her patient welcome her babies into the world.

"Charmaine's babies are finally making a grand entrance in 4 days," the caption reads, referring to the Christmas specials' release date of November 30. "It's the most festive delivery of the season!"

Speaking about what fans should expect from the two-part holiday special, Virgin River executive producer Patrick Sean Smith teased there will be a storyline for everyone, with a few characters being able to catch their breath following the traumatic events from earlier in the season.

"The holiday episodes are a little bit lighter, and we wanted to play a little more comedy after the weight of this season," he told Glamour.

The specials will jump ahead to Christmas from Labor Day (celebrated in early September), marking the biggest time-jump the series has aired so far. The two-parter is also set to dig deeper into Mel's biological father mystery, with her and Jack collecting clues about the man's identity.

"Part of what Mel and Jack are going through in those two episodes is like the scavenger hunt through Virgin River trying to track down the man who is her biological father," Smith explained. "They're going from clue to clue."

Virgin River seasons 1-5 are streaming now on Netflix, while the holiday specials will be released on November 30.
