Olly Murs will be making his debut as a coach on The Voice in 2018, and the singer has hinted that we can expect some flirty, cheeky banter coming from his iconic red chair.

The former X Factor contestant made the confession while attending the launch of the ITV show with fellow coaches Jennifer Hudson, Will.i.am, and Tom Jones, when he revealed what viewers can expect from him as a panellist and mentor.

"I'm going to bring some energy to the panel and try and find some incredible acts," he told Digital Spy.

"I'm just going to be me - I am bit flirtatious and cheeky... To be fair there was a young lady today from Essex she was attractive. We had a laugh.

"This is why the guys at The Voice wanted me to do it. I'm trying to bring my enthusiasm - people know what I'm like. Its's going to be cheeky."

But Olly insists he's taking his role as a mentor very seriously and is pretty excited to guide contestants while applying his own experience of taking part on a reality TV show.

"At the same time, I'm serious about my music, and helping someone and giving them advice and the experiences I had."

"So I really really want to find someone. I'm not here to be the fun guy and the naughty school kid. I want to win this and show people my skills."

Blind auditions are already underway, and Olly admitted he's already feeling pretty competitive with the other judges.

"I want to find a big star," he said. "I'm not going to lie, there's been some fantastic talent that I haven't won yet, but it's a good battle. Blind auditions with all the coaches has been exciting."

The Voice returns to ITV with Emma Willis as host in 2018.
