The Voice Kids viewers stunned by singer's age

Tonight saw the return of The Voice Kids, ITV's singing contest aimed at young aspiring vocalists.

The stage was graced by a number of talented singers this evening (July 14), but it was Jacob who caused arguably the biggest stir this evening.

Viewers were taken aback by Jacob's age and couldn't stop tweeting about it. With him being just 14-years-old, his deep resounding voice reminded people of someone way beyond Jacob's years.

Black Eyed Peas leader will.i.am, McFly's Danny Jones and popstar Pixie Lott are all on the judging panel this year, and all were completely blown away by Jacob's vocal depth.

They too were surprised by the teenager's actual age, and he admitted that people who met him thought he was at least 18 or 21.

This didn't take anything away from Jacob's stylish, swing-influenced performance, with tweets going out in recognition of his impressive voice.

One fan was already measuring him up as a potential winner of the show too.

Judge Danny has previously spoken about his involvement with The Voice Kids, saying that he finds the participants' passion inspiring.

"I do it because I love it, I love working with the kids, I think it's amazing," he said.

"The kids in particular, there's no last-ditch effort, there's no desperation, there's no money involved."
