Why did Love Is Blind's Brittany and Ken break up?Netflix

The next batch of Love Is Blind season six episodes just dropped on Netflix, and boy are the juicy. From "serial killer" esque apartments, to 5am meet ups, to accusations of "clingyness", it has been an absolute whirlwind of emotions and chaotic moments. But one jaw-dropping moment we perhaps weren't expecting, was the breakdown of Brittany and Kenneth's relationship. But why did they actually break up?

Brittany and Kenneth got engaged in the pods after a number of dates, where they seemed to bond over their shared values including similar religious beliefs. When they met after their engagement they seemed to really get on well, and there were no signs of trouble. However, by the time they returned from their trip to the Dominican Republic, following that awkward boat ride, and moved in together, it seemed there was a lot distance between the couple and by the end of episode eight the couple had called it quits.

So what really happened between them? Here's the low down.

Why did Brittany and Kenneth breakup?

Following a rather awkward boat ride in episode seven, Kenneth, 26, and Brittany, 25, moved in together, however by the end of episode eight they had ended their relationship due to a lack of intimacy.

In episode eight 'Clinging to Love' the couple were seen discussing their relationship in the kitchen of their new apartment. Brittany asked Kenneth why he had come back to their bedroom and woken her up in the middle of the night when she claimed he knew she had to get up for work at 5am the next day. Kenneth defended his actions, saying he wanted to say goodnight night to Brittany and he didn't want that one night to change how Brittany perceived the rest of their relationship.

The conversation then moved onto more deeper topics with Brittany confessing that hadn't changed the relationship, but instead she didn't feel the "crave" she had for him at the beginning of their journey together.

"I don't know how to pinpoint it Kenneth, I really don't and I wish I did," she said. "But I feel like when we do talk about us, our minds and our heads are right there with one another, like what we want out a marriage is there, but, like, where's the intimate feeling between us and the crave of us, like, having what we want in a marriage?

"Or, like, the desire to have it between us. I feel like that desire and crave between you and I is the missing piece because everything else is aligned."

Kenneth however said that wasn't how he perceived things in their relationship, and said: "For you, because for me... that's not true for me. So, if you feel like you don't have a crave for me, thank you for telling me that, but I don't feel like I'm missing the crave for you. I think I work a lot, there are times where I am trying to be affectionate to you and you may feel like you don't want it at the moment.

"Normally when I kiss you, it's like a kiss and you just go back, so cool... I'm a respectful man, I'm not going to force myself or push myself up on you. I'm going to take what I see to be something that you're comfortable with proceeding. Like, even last night when I woke you up, I was trying to be very affectionate, you pushed me off you. I was in that moment, you weren't."

Brittany then said she felt they weren't very affectionate and pointed out that the couple hadn't "made out" which she felt really "awkward" about. She continued to say she didn't feel like she had that consistent craving feeling for him.

To which Kenneth then replied that they perhaps should end their relationship saying, "That's not enough for us to get married... and we have to be OK and honest about that."

Kenneth ended the conversation by saying he had a lot of love for Brittany and would always support her. The conversation ended with the pair hugging.

Where are Brittany and Kenneth at now?

Since their journey ended on Love Is Blind there's been no indication to suggest Brittany and Kenneth have rekindled their romance.

However, they do appear to perhaps be on good terms, after Brittany posted on social media to defend Kenneth and the hate he was receiving on social media following the release of the latest episodes.

She posted on her Instagram Story last night (21 February): “It’s been brought to my attention that racial slurs, hate messages and comments are being sent to Kenneth. I need to make a few things clear: I do not and will not support any hate messages being sent. If whoever is vocalising their opinion is thinking they’re ‘sticking up’ for me by having ill will towards Ken, I don’t support it. Cut it out.

"I will be the first to remind you all that there are literally thousands of hours of filming and y’all get 12 hours of it…Remind yourself to choose kindness before taking any action on any situation that you truthfully have no idea what really happened. I have all intentions to speak about today’s episodes and my experience, however I will do so on my time and when I’m comfortable. Until then, cut the hate out."

So far Kenneth has not commented about the break up on social media.

Here's hoping both Kenneth and Brittany are doing OK following their split.
